A recent study led by Patricia Berney, MD of the Geneva University Hospitals shows that antidepressants are becoming the prescribers choice over benzodiazepine drugs like Valium. This is a drastic shift from just a decade ago when the benzo drugs like Valium were considered the most effective treatment for anxiety disorders. What is interesting about the study isn’t that antidepressant prescriptions are soaring. Rather, the study shows that doctors are choosing antidepressants without any solid evidence showing that they are more effective than benzodiazepines like Valium.

Before any drug gets approval from the FDA or other regulatory agencies, it must be thoroughly tested for efficacy, risks and side effects. In recent years, there have been many developments in newer, safer antidepressant drugs. However, there haven’t been any major breakthroughs in benzodiazepine drugs. Valium was the norm a decade ago and remains the norm. But the antidepressants of the past (like Elavil and Sinequan) have been replaced by new generation of SSRIs and NRIs like Effexor and Wellbutrin. Yet, as the study points out, just because antidepressants have improved, it doesn’t mean that they are better than safe benzodiazepines like Valium.

Patients like to believe that their doctors are prescribing medications based on clinical studies which show that the medicine is the best choice for their specific condition. But, in many cases, prescribing is a guesswork process. To date, there haven’t been any significant studies which directly compare benzo drugs like Valium with antidepressants. It is up to doctors to make educated guesses as to which drug will work best. In a lot of cases, a doctor has a preference for one type of drug and will prescribe that one in almost all cases. If you went to 5 different doctors with the same condition, you could end up with 5 different prescriptions for types of benzodiazepines and antidepressants!

As a patient, you can’t be expect to make a diagnosis or prescribe your own medicine. Thanks to the popularity of shows like Doctor House and Scrubs, there are already too-many amateur doctors who think they know more than their health care providers. But, patients should be expected to actively participate in the treatment process. You should make sure to tell your doctor all of your symptoms, even the ones which you think are unrelated or are embarrassing. These symptoms include sexual problems like impotence, binge eating (especially if at certain times of the day), relationship problems, and so forth.

After getting your prescription for Valium or an antidepressant, the treatment process shouldn’t stop. It is the patient’s responsibility to take the medicine as directed and report all side effects and changes to the doctor. If you are suffering from panic attacks but your doctor has given you antidepressants, then you will obviously want to bring this to the doctor’s attention so your treatment can be adjusted. But if you are incredibly sleepy from Valium, then you may need to be switched to an antidepressant. There is no one best medicine for dealing with anxiety disorders. Yes, further studies are needed but even then a lot of the prescription process will still be guesswork.

In many cases, insomnia is caused by anxiety. Medical practitioners have routinely prescribed Valium (the benzodiazepine drug Diazepam) for treating anxiety, especially when it has caused insomnia. However, just using Valium alone probably isn’t going to help your insomnia unless you also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.

What is CBT?

Cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, is a type of psychological treatment which aims to 1) make the patient aware of his/her condition and the elements relating to it and 2) to initiate behavioral changes to help alleviate the problem. CBT has been found to be the most effective long-term treatment for insomnia. Your doctor may prescribe you Valium for getting over the rough nights but you will be expected to utilize CBT if you want a full recovery.

There are several different types of CBT which are commonly utilized with or without Valium for treating insomnia:

Stimulus-control therapy: this is similar to the aspects of sleep hygiene in which the patient learns to relate the bedroom with sleep and a sleeping schedule

Sleep restriction therapy: This unique method of CBT is often used when Valium doesn’t work. It involves limiting the amount of time that the patient is allowed to be in bed to the time which the patient is currently sleeping daily. For example, if you only sleep 1 hour a night, then you are not allowed to be in bed more than 1 hour, regardless of whether you fall asleep or not. As sleep deprivation increases, the patient will be able to fall asleep faster and the amount of time in bed can be increased.

Relaxation training: these techniques help fight anxiety; they are very effective when used along with Valium

CBT with Valium

For people who have been suffering from severe or long lasting insomnia due to anxiety, then Valium can come as a very quick relief. The patients may be tempted to suddenly sleep longer hours than is considered healthy. Any attempt at a consistent sleep schedule can be lost.

Before you begin taking Valium or any other benzodiazepine drug for anxiety, it is important that you set a realistic sleep schedule and establish habits. Even if you are unable to fall asleep at your designated times or with the good sleep hygiene methods, you must still stick to your habits.

Once you begin taking Valium, don’t be tempted to sleep longer or even take naps. During the first few days to weeks of taking Valium, this can be difficult because of the “Valium hangover” side effect which is often felt. But, if you sleep during this period of drowsiness, then you will ruin your sleep schedule and will not be able to overcome your insomnia in the long term.

If you are one of the unfortunate individuals who suffer from symptoms of an anxiety disorder, you know that you can feel extremely anxious for days on end, without any apparent explanation or reason. The feelings of anxiousness and dread that haunt you can get so uncomfortable that you might just want to curl up and forget about the world completely in hope that they would pass. Sometimes, the anctiousness can get so severe and intense that it can even make you lose control of your body and freeze. Al of this can make it very difficult and challenging for you to function properly and be involved in your life, so it’s only reasonable that you would do anything to get rid of the feeling. The most effective way of dealing with anxiety and releaving it’s victims of some of the most severe symptoms is through medication such as Valium, but there are alternative ways as well. Medication, especially Valium and other benzodiazepines like it have been the go to treatment for slight, moderate and severe anxiety disorders for over forty years, and there effectiveness is well documented.

The way Valium and other benzodiazepines work is by stimulating the production of the Gamma aminobutyric acid, or GABA for shorthand. GABA is an naturally occurring amino acid that has a crucial role in the psychology of relaxation and it’s opposite, anxiety. Most prescription drugs including Xanax and Valium affect the Gamma Aminobutyric acid neuroreceptors in the brain. There are other, non pharmaceutical treatments that claim to be able to produce similar effects on the brain chemistry, but their effects are not as well known as those of Valium and other clinically developed and tested anti anxiety drugs. One of the latest “natural Valium alternatives” to hit the market is Piper methysticum, or Kava as it’s commonly known is a herb that’s been said to be able to mimic the effects of Valium. Kava is native to Polynesian islands, and it’s supposedly been used to deal with feelings of agitation, tension and anxiety for a long time. Kava is, much like Valium, also said to be an effective treatment for insomnia, although such claims are not really based on medical research.

Other ways of dealing with anxiety disorders have also been used, and some of the more popular ones are Oat Straw, Scullcap, Passion flower and even Catnip. Before you decide to order Valium or similar Diazepam based anti anxiety medication you should also think about making some changes to your diet. Chromium deficiency has been known to produce symptoms that can be quite similar to anxiety, as well as the lack of Selenium. Even having too low cholesterol levels can affect your mood, decrease your libido and make you both depressed and anxious. You can always rely on Valium to deal with anxiety symptoms, but you should also make sure that you are taking enough minerals, especially magnesium, manganese, calcium and potassium. Stressful times will cause your body to burn through it’s mineral reserves quite quickly, so make sure you replenish.

If you are suffering from psychological problems including social anxiety, panic and anxiety attacks and similar nervous conditions, one of the things that’s always on your mind must be the burning desire to find some treatment for your symptoms.

If you are suffering from psychological problems including social anxiety, panic and anxiety attacks and similar nervous conditions, one of the things that’s always on your mind must be the burning desire to find some treatment for your symptoms. You have probably already done some research and realize that there are so many different drugs out there that promise a way to help you with your predicament. Finding the right one, or the one that can provide you with the most benefits with the least side effects and costs can be a daunting task indeed. One of the best ways to make sure that you have all the information you need to make the right choice when it comes to getting anti anxiety drugs is to both talk to your doctor and familiarize yourself with the available options by doing some research online.

All medications for treating anxiety and panic attacks have a similar mechanism of action. Anti anxiety drugs all have specially designed chemicals that can produce a relaxing and soothing effect on the person who’s taking them. However, most medications have some side effects as well, and you should be aware of them. To minimize the chance of side effects and complications, always make sure that you consult with a qualified medical professional before choosing to go on a course of anti anxiety medications.

Traditionally speaking, the usual way of treating anxiety was to administer drugs called the anxiolytics. Today, although those anti anxiety agents are still seldom used, there are a lot of preferable methods to deal with anxiety. For most people though, the effectiveness and fast action of anti anxiety drugs still makes them the preferable method of dealing with moderate to severe anxiety. Anti anxiety drugs are still the number one way of helping anxiety patients deal with their symptoms and function normally.

Most popular anti anxiety drugs in usage today are benzodiazepines. By far, the most commonly used benzodiazepine is Valium, or Diazepam as it’s also known as. Valium is used as the go to medication for treatment of anxiety symptoms. Although Valium cannot cure a person of anxiety, since it really does not deal with the underlying problem that is causing it, it is the most effective way to lessen the symptoms. Valium should always be used as a complementary treatment, because it’s best combined with psycho therapy – while Valium deals with the immediate symptoms and makes it possible for the individual that’s suffering from anxiety attacks to function normally on day to day bases, psycho therapy and counseling is there to deal with the deeper issue that’s causing the symptoms. This, so called “two pronged” approach to dealing with anxiety has been the most effective one for a vast majority of people.

While there is an potential for abuse and some known side effects of Valium and other benzodiazepine type medications, when used responsibly and per doctor’s instructions they are considered quite safe. Most people who suffer from moderate to severe cases of anxiety and panic attacks can safely use Valium.

First of all, what exactly is Valium?
Valium is a drug with a sedating, calming effect. It has several medical properties and scenarios of usage, since it can treat several different symptoms. Most commonly, it’s used to deal with patients who suffer from anxiety problems, but it can also be used for the sedation of surgery patients, to treat muscle spasms and convulsions, as well as a treatment for insomnia, OCD, panic attacks and many different psychological and physical conditions.

What does Valium look like?
Valium is most often sold in the form of a pill, although it might also come in form of gel or injection, though those preparations of Valium are usually reserved for medical usage. Most genuine and generic Valium pills are round and white, yellowish or orange. Valium and similar benzodiazepine based drugs come in several dosages and sizes, so if you are buying online, you will usually be presented with a choice ranging from two to ten milligrams. You should always start with the smallest possible dosage, but even if you buy the larger five or ten milligram Valium tablets, you can easily divide them in half to lower the dose. Remember – never take more Valium than your doctor recommended, because you might develop a tolerance, and if you are not careful even become addicted to Valium!

I want to buy Valium online. How can I be sure that I’m not being scammed and that I’m buying the real thing?
Well, you should make sure that the pill you are buying looks like the real Valium we just described in the previous FAQ answer. But even if the pill you are buying is not the “original” Valium it shouldn’t be a problem, since Valium has become available under a variety of names and brands. Just make sure that you are getting your generic Valium from a reputable online pharmacy.

So what are some of the “generic” names under which I can get Valium?
First of all, Valium is not the actual name of the drug – it’s only a trade name under which it became well known. The actual, pharmaceutical name of the drug is Diazepam, and it’s been prescribed by doctors all over the world under that name for over forty years. There are a lot of different generic Valium brand names out there, just make sure that it has the word diazepam in it’s ingredients list.

What is the fastest, most convenient, most cost effective way to get Diazepam?
The most efficient way to get Valium or Diazepam is to use Internet to order it. Usually, you will just have to provide proof that you have a prescription for Valium. You can scan your prescription and email it, or use fax, but a lot of online pharmacies offer an online consultation that are being conducted by qualified medical professionals.

Valium is one of the medications that belong to a drug class known as benzodiazepines. Valium, and other similar drugs are one of the most common methods for treatment of the symptoms and manifestations of a variety of anxiety related disorders. They are beneficial when the desired goal is the calming of symptoms such as increased heartbeat, perspiration, or high body temperature that comes from anxiety and panic attacks.

Some patients experience feelings that might even make them think that they are having a heart attack, but when rushed to the doctors all tests come back negative. If you ever experienced something like that, chances are you had a panic attack, and that there’s nothing wrong with your heart – it’s the anxiety that’s causing the symptoms. You might find Valium very beneficial if this is your case. It will not treat the underlying cause of your anxiety, but it will most certainly make the symptoms you suffer from go away, this helping you by making it possible for you to function normally. Although Valium is helpful in treating the symptoms of anxiety, panic disorders or panic attacks, it isn’t a cure – the only thing that can completely solve the problem and make you psychologically healthy again is psycho therapy. But since it can take a while for therapy to start producing effects, Valium is very useful for treating the immediate symptoms in the meantime.

If you are debating if you should start using Valium, especially if you are thinking about ordering Valium or a generic benzodiazepine online, you should do your research beforehand. Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions that can help you with your decision:

1 – What exactly is Valium?

Valium is a drug from the benzodiazepines group of pharmaceuticals. Valium has several calming properties that help relax the body and mind. It’s most often used to treat anxiety and insomnia, but it can also help to relax the body if the patient is suffering from tremors, increased heart rate and convulsions.

2 – What does Valium look like?

Brand name Valium is usually found in the form of a pill. It can be yellow, white or orange, with a big letter “V” imprinted in the center of it. One side of the tablet or pill usually has a notch in it, to make the dividing of the pill in two halves easier.

3 – What doses is Valium available in?

Valium is usually available in 2 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg doses. Patients should always start with the smallest available pill and increase only under the supervision of a doctor.

4 – How can I know that I’m buying the real Valium?

Valium is not a new drug, so it’s formula is well known and available for other pharmaceutical companies to manufacture. There are a lot of “generic Valium brands” out there, and most of them are comparable to the “real Valium”. Still, make sure that you are buying from a reputable online source.

Valium is the most recognizable name for a drug that’s also known as Diastat. The generic name of the substance in Valium and Diastat is diazepam, and it belongs to the anti anxiety class of drugs. It can also be used to relax and sedate patients before or after surgery or other severely traumatic events. It’s designed to calm both the mind and the body while it’s exposed to a stressful event. It works by increasing the levels of a specific neurotransmitter in the brain, called GABA. GABA, like all other neurotransmitters is a chemical that is produced by the brain itself, and GABA in particular has a sedating effect on the brain and the Central Nervous System, making you feel serene and relaxed. Valium is most commonly prescribed by doctors to people who suffer from a wide range of anxiety disorders, starting from mild social anxiety and all the way to OCD and panic attacks. Most often, patients who first start with Valium should begin with a very small dose, because their systems have not yet built resistance to the drug and a small dosage is all they need in order to control the symptoms.

Valium can also be used to treat a wide range of chronic and acute disturbances. Some of the most often symptoms that Valium is used to treat include body tremors, seizures, delirious episodes, irritation and a number of other problems, both physical and psychological in nature. Since Valium both slows the activity of your brain and relaxes the body as well, it’s effective as a pain management treatment as well as a way to deal with psychological problems.

You should always think about Valium and other diazepam based drugs as a way to treat symptoms while you are dealing with the underlying problem that is causing them. This means that Valium should really not be used for a prolonged period of time, since long term usage of it can in fact result in developing an addiction to the drug. The reason Valium can be addictive is that the body of the patient can build tolerance to it if you are not careful This causes the patient to take ever increasing dosages of Valium just to achieve the benefits they initially had with a very small dose of the drug. Taking larger dosages of Valium for a prolonged period of time can and will result in more than tolerance to the drug though – your body might in fact become dependent, and if this happens, you will have to go through a withdrawal period in order to stop using the drug.

Due to the potential for abuse, Valium is available as a prescription drug. You can get Valium in several different dosages, most commonly in the form of two, five and ten milligram pills. You should be careful if you are ordering Valium online and taking it on your own, and it’s best to always consult with your doctor before taking any medication.

A lot of people have experienced some form of panic attacks or severe anxiety at one or the other point in their lives. There’s nothing unnatural about anxiety – in fact, it’s an mechanism that got developed during the evolution of men, and it’s in place to help us better cope with stressful and potentially dangerous situations. But sometimes though, anxiety can become so severe and excessive that it prevents us from functioning in our day to day existence, and when it does, it’s something to be dealt with and treated. Psychologists and psychiatrists have a name for this severe form of anxiety, and it’s panic or anxiety disorder.

A disorder like this one will usually manifest itself as a severe panic attack. These attacks often last for no longer than a few minutes and up to half an hour at most, and during the attack, the patient will usually experience an unpleasant feeling of nausea, increase in heart rate, shortness of breath, and a host of other physical symptoms. When it comes to the psychological effects of a panic attack though, the patients often feel like they are dying, that they lost control of their bodies, that their own body is trying to suffocate or kill them, or that they are trapped and have no way out.

It’s easy to see that when manifested in such an extreme form, anxiety is a dangerous thing and should be treated as soon as possible. If left untreated for long enough, an acute panic attack disorder can and often will create the possibility of many different physical, psychological and psychosomatic disturbances, and some of those can become chronic and highly dangerous. The way anxiety disorders are treated these days includes both psychotherapy and psycho pharmaceuticals. Although it’s crucial to get to the bottom of the problem and squash panic disorder in it’s root, a task for which psychotherapy is really impossible to replace, the process can take a lot of time and not all patients will respond to it the same way. That’s why most psychologists will use some form of medication that will help you with immediate symptoms of panic attacks. These drugs will help you relax and stay calm by removing all the symptoms that follow anxiety.

Most commonly, your doctor will prescribe you a drug from the family of benzodiazepines. The best known benzodiazepines today are probably Valium, Ativan, Zanex and Xanax. There are alternatives that can be used on it’s own or in the combination with a benzodiazepine like Valium, commonly Beta blockers and drugs like Gabapentin and Buspirone. Although there are other alternatives, when it comes to the effectiveness, there still isn’t anything that is really as efficient as Valium out there. You should be careful with it though, since although it will help you reduce tension and anxiety and generally help you relax, Valium also has a potential for abuse. You never want to take larger dosages than your doctor prescribed because that increase will only make it necessary to take even more to achieve the same effects you had initially.

Many of us are struggling with sleep. The fast pace that most of us are living today, combined with the effects of stress and other external factors has made sleep both a luxury and something you just need to get over with in order to continue being productive. A lot of people would like nothing more than to be able to function without having to sleep reguralry. People seem to expect that they should be able to work sixteen hours straight, and then just change clothes and continue partying and having fun until the morning. No matter how much energy you think you might have, you still need enough sleep. If you don’t sleep enough every night, you will not only feel bad and low energy all the time, but you can also severely affect your health and well being.

On the other hand, if you have trouble sleeping, you would like nothing more than to just be able to fall under at the very second your head touches the pillow. If you find yourself turning and tossing under the sheets but unable to sleep for more than a few nights per week, you might be suffering from chronic insomnia. The first thing you should do if you suspect this is to head to your medical doctor so he can do a thorough checkup on your general health levels. Insomnia can have varied causes, both physical and psychological, so it’s important to be able to get to the root of the problem as fast as possible, because every day you miss sleeping, your organism is becoming more and more tired and this can open the door for a number of other, more serious illnesses

No matter what your physician concludes the cause of your insomnia is, it might take some time before you are able to completely cure the underlying condition and be able to sleep again. You should never wait that long, because sleep is crucial to your health and going without it for a prolonged period of time is just plain stupid. Your physician will know this as well, and that’s why he will most certainly recommend some medication to cure your insomnia.

When it comes to effectiveness, the most potent sleeping pill available on prescription out there has to be Valium. Valium is commonly prescribed to treat insomnia because of it’s uncompromising effectiveness, but there are some precautions that you should take if your doctor has prescribed Valium. For one, you should know that Valium is somewhat controversial, and there is some debate surrounding it. This is not to mean that Valium will not help you sleep – far from it, but it has been found to have some addictive properties when used for a prolonged period of time. As you use it, your body builds tolerance to the beneficial effects of the drug, and it takes more and more Valium to achieve the same effects you had when you first started. This is why you should never take Valium for a long period without giving your body some time to rest.

Valium is one of the drugs that have sedative effects by affecting the Central Nervous System (CNS). Valium and other similar drugs that sedate and slow Central Nervous System function are called depressants and sedatives. There are a lot of these drugs around, and most work in the similar way. The mechanism of action for most Central Nervous System depressants is accomplished by affecting the GABA neurotransmitter, or Gamma aminobutyric acid. GABA and other neurotransmitters are chemicals that the brain produces naturally, and they are vital for normal functioning of the brain because they enable communication between various brain cells possible. You can think of them as the communication pathways for the brain and the rest of the central nervous system.

Gamma aminobutyric acid is a specific neurotransmitter though, because it works by decreasing the activity that’s going on in the brain. Although most CNS depressant medications have slightly different and often unique ways of affecting the CNS, what it all comes down to is the fact that all of them increase the amount of GABA that’s available to achieve a calming, sedating effect. This effect is very beneficial to patients that suffer from sleeping disorders, anxiety, panic attacks or just want something to help them unwind and fall asleep after a long hard day.

Valium is one of the better known drugs to achieve this. It’s been on the market for a long time, and is sufficiently tested and known to be both efficient and safe when used responsibly Valium is one of the benzodiazepines, a family of medications that are commonly prescribed and used as an effective treatment for acute stress, panic attacks and anxiety. It’s effects are so potent that it can even be used as an effective general anesthetic, provided that the dose is sufficient enough.

Valium definitely has a lot of beneficial effects when used properly. However, it also has the potential for both misuse and abuse, and every user of Valium is strongly encouraged to use the drug only as prescribed. If you have just started taking Valium, you might have noticed that during the first few days under the drug you might feel drowsy and sleepy. This is normal and you shouldn’t panic or be worried – your body just needs to adjust and accustom it self to the sedating effects of the drug. These sensations will begin to dissapear soon enough, and you will be able to function normally while taking Valium. However, if you use Valium for a prolonged period of time, especially if you are not careful with the dosage and take more than is prescribed, your body will begin to develop tolerance to the effects of Valium. As a result, you will have to take larger and larger doses to achieve the same effects. Taking Valium in high dosages for a prolonged period of time can also lead to serious issues, such as physical addiction and dependence on the drug, and you will have to face withdrawal symptoms if you try to reduce or completely stop using Valium.
